Welcome to Shakespeare 101! It’s a perfectly fitting episode number for today as we invite a Shakespeare professor to answer YOUR questions about the Bard’s staying power, how to read his works, and how to interpret Lady Macbeth. We always say we won’t get TOO academic here, but we’re getting pretty academic thanks to Chelsey’s former Shakespeare professor.
Professor Doug Green taught Shakespeare and Renaissance literature, writing, drama, and film at Augsburg University. He also helped develop and taught Augsburg’s first course in queer studies. Doug has an abundance of knowledge and advice to share with us as we read Macbeth together this month, so jump in and travel back to the college classroom with us today.
Wondering which version of the play to pick up this month? Check out our new reel!
Coming up in October…
We are reading Macbeth by William Shakespeare in October, and we have a lot of Shakespearean excellence planned for you on the podcast and on Patreon. Note: Wednesday events will take place at 7 pm ET.
We’re having so much fun discussing adaptations and classic literature with all of you. Thank you for helping us create a smart, kind, and curious community of readers. Do you have questions about joining us? Reach out via Instagram DM or email us at novelpairingspod@gmail.com.
We declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of anything than of a book!
