It’s our 100th episode, readers! Thank you, thank you, thank you for coming along with us on this exploration of all things classic literature. We are immensely grateful for those of you who listen to the podcast, share it with friends, and support us on Patreon.
Today, we are talking about Persuasion by Jane Austen, often described as Austen’s autumnal work. Persuasion is a novel about longing and yearning with deeply romantic scenes, as well as Austen’s signature wit. We discuss Anne and Wentworth as individuals and as a couple, the brilliant way Austen opens the novel, and so much more. Of course, we could not stop ourselves from discussing film adaptations and why we think there is a resurgence of interest in this story right now.
Don’t forget to join us for Book Club tomorrow 9/28 at 7 PM ET over on Patreon! We can’t wait to discuss Persuasion with you all.
