Hey, listeners!
Traci Thomas of The Stacks Podcast joins us today to talk about The Autobiography of Malcolm X. This nonfiction classic is one of my favorite books of all time, and it was an absolute pleasure to discuss it with a podcaster and literary-hype-woman I so admire. We had such a great chat with Traci, and we hope you listen, enjoy, and walk away with something new to think about.
Traci also shared some exciting news! The Stacks Shop just launched, and the merch is AMAZING. I ordered the black classic logo t-shirt, and Sara is loving this cute baseball hat.
After you listen to our episode, be sure to download Traci’s discussion with Marc Lamont Hill for more Malcolm X analysis and book talk. You can find Traci on Instagram @thestackspod. Shop her nonfiction recommendations here.

Next week, we’re wrapping up our Fall season with a Quarterly Reading Review episode. We love taking the time to reflect on each season of the podcast and share some of our favorite reads from the last few months. Make sure that you’re subscribed to Novel Pairings in your podcatcher of choice so that you don’t miss out on those book recs!
Coming up, we have a cozy, empowering, and atmospheric collection of winter books. In case you missed it, watch our IGTV video in which we share our winter season picks and what we’re looking forward to—plus, we answer a handful of questions. We had so much fun with that IG live, we’re eager to do it again! What would you like to hear us chat about LIVE?
Currently Reading:
I’m scrambling to finish a couple of books that I think will be perfect pairings for Little Women (that episode will air 12/22). Keeping those under wraps for now, I’ll share a couple of romance reads I’m enjoying: Spoiler Alert by Olivia Dade is a contemporary rom com about two fan fiction writers, one of whom happens to be a TV star in the exact franchise that they’re writing about. I also downloaded a collection of romance novellas by some of my favorite authors titled Duke I’d Like to F… (I love a good pun). Heads up for LOTS of steam and spice in that one, readers.
Romance has been carrying me through this pandemic—truly—but I’m also taking in some excellent nonfiction. I’m listening to The Dead Are Arising by Les Payne via Libro.fm, and I just plucked Hood Feminism from the shelf and moved it out to the coffee table, where I like to sit for a few pages of morning reading time.
Listeners, we’re excited to be partnering with Libro.fm to offer you two audiobooks for the price of one. Just click this link to get two audiobooks for $15 all while supporting the pod and independent bookstores!
Or click here to give the gift of audiobooks to your favorite bookworm.
