Hey, listeners!
Michelle here:) This week Sara and Chelsey welcomed their second-ever guest on the podcast! Jamise Harper of @spinesvines and @diversespines chatted with them about her reading life, becoming a bookstagrammer, her favorite interviews, and more. As a summer treat, she also paired a few of her favorite titles with her the perfect wines. I had so much fun listening to this episode, and I will definitely be adding several new titles to my TBR pile (and several new wines to my shopping list) from Jamise’s recommendations!

Coming Up:
Get ready for an episode on Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel, coming to you next Tuesday. Sara and Chelsey will be talking all about the magical realism and mouthwatering food descriptions in this classic, so maybe listen with a snack in hand! It’s also fitting that this is the first episode in August, which is Women in Translation month. Esquivel’s book spent years on the bestseller list in Mexico before it was translated from the original Spanish and became a hit in the U.S. and around the world.
On August 11, Sara and Chelsey will be doing a fall book preview! Get excited to have your TBR pile toppled with all of the wonderful classics they’ll be discussing next season.
Currently Reading:
This week I listened* to The Jane Austen Society by Natalie Jenner. Normally I get a little impatient with audiobooks, but with The Jane Austen Society the time just flew by for me! Jenner struck the perfect balance of giving readers fascinating history and Austen tidbits while not getting too academic.
A few newsletters back I shared that I was starting The Authenticity Project by Clare Pooley. I have since finished it and would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a heartwarming read. The ending was my favorite part:)
Finally, I’ve just started Wow, No Thank You by Samantha Irby and I’ve already fallen in love with her. I can relate to so much of what she writes about and it’.
