Favorite audiobooks, a new look, and a request
Hey, listeners!
In today’s episode, Chelsey and I are discussing one of our favorite topics: audiobooks. Off mic, we often talk about what we’re listening to and loving, but we wanted to make sure we got the chance to share our favorite 2020 listens with all of you. We each chose twelve of the best audiobooks we listened to this year to share with you. There are so many great books feature in this episode, and they’re all enhanced by the talented narrators who bring them to life. Download the episode wherever you listen to podcasts, and visit our blog to see all of the books mentioned. And if this episode inspires you to give the gift of a Libro.fm membership to the readers in your life, please do consider using our affiliate link. These affiliate purchases go a long way in helping us keep Novel Pairings going!
This week we also unveiled our new logo. We love the vintage look and feel of it, but the story behind it is what makes this moment truly special. Chelsey shared that story in this Instagram post and reading through all of the listener comments has been a really wonderful part of this week. We’re so excited to begin our winter season and be approaching the new year with a look and logo that truly feels like the mission of our podcast.
And speaking of moving forward, we have a request for you. We’d love for you to fill out this listener survey to give us a sense of what you enjoy about the show and help us make it even better in the coming months and years. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us…we really appreciate it!

Coming up:
December is going to be a great month of book discussions. Next week we’re talking about Willa Cather’s My Antonia. This episode is really special because our assistant Michelle joined us! Michelle was actually in my class the first time I taught My Antonia and she wrote a phenomenal paper on the novel. It was super fun to discuss the book with her after her most recent read.
Then on December 15th, we’re releasing our interview with Annie B. Jones, the owner of The Bookshelf in Thomasville. We had so much fun discussing independent bookstores, childhood reading habits, cozy books, and Little Women fashion with Annie and we’re very excited to share this episode with you!
Currently Reading:
This morning I finished The Girl Who Swallowed the Moon by Kelly Barnhill, which is a delightful middle grade book that reads like the most wonderful fairytale. I know Chelsey also loved this one on audio! I’m not sure what I’ll be picking up for my next print read, but I’m currently listening to Caste by Isabel Wilkerson on Libro.fm*. I absolutely loved Wilkerson’s The Warmth of Other Suns, and while Caste is different in the breadth of its scope, it’s written with Wilkerson’s trademark storytelling style so I’m enjoying it and learning a lot.
