This fall, we're excited to announce some engaging content and community activities that will keep our literary spirits high, even as we take a brief hiatus from our main feed during Chelsey’s maternity leave.
While our primary feed will see fewer updates, we won’t leave you completely without content! Expect to see a few special episodes, including our much-anticipated annual buzzy fall books recommendations. For those who want even more, our Patreon community will continue to thrive, offering three bonus episodes each month at the $5 Literature Lover level. This is a fantastic opportunity to dive deeper into literary discussions and enjoy extra nerdy content.
For our dedicated Literature Scholars ($10), we're revamping our book clubs and classes. This fall, we’ll shift to a seminar-style format led by Sara, focusing on revisiting books we've previously covered on the show but haven't explored in our Patreon community.
Here’s what you can look forward to reading with us this season:
September: We’ll kick off with Kazuo Ishiguro’s The Remains of the Day. This Booker Prize-winning novel captures the essence of fall with its contemplative tone. It tells the story of an aging butler grappling with his past mistakes, making it a rich character study and a personal favorite of Sara’s.
October: We’ll delve into Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. While we’ve aired episodes about this classic before, we haven’t had the chance to discuss it with our Patreon community. This essential text explores themes of creation and responsibility, perfect for stimulating nerdy discussions.
November: To round out the fall, we’ll enjoy Dodie Smith’s I Capture the Castle. This charming novel transports readers to a crumbling castle in the British countryside, featuring a clever and bookish narrator. It’s a delightful escape and a sweet way to transition into the end of the year.
We’re excited for this season and look forward to sharing these experiences with you!
