2024 Bookish Superlatives, Announcements & A Very Special Readalong
Sharing the best books of the year and two big announcements for our favorite nerdy readers.
Our annual Bookish Superlatives episode is here, and we're excited to share some of our most memorable reads of 2024! We’re covering everything from best audiobooks to most disappointing reads, with unique categories in between. In addition to highlighting these books, we’ll take a look back at our podcasting journey throughout 2024, sharing some insider glimpses and hacks we’ve discovered for our reading lives.
Join the conversation! We created a shareable graphic for you to fill in with your superlatives for each of the categories. Add your titles, share on Instagram, and don’t forget to tag us! We can’t wait to see your picks.
A Novel Pairings Announcement
In addition to spring readalong plans and reading life updates, we’re sharing an incredibly important and bittersweet announcement in today’s episode. After five years of nerdy delight with Novel Pairings, we've decided to wrap up this chapter of our literary journey.
Novel Pairings has always been about more than just talking books; we've built a community that celebrates stories and connections. Because of that, we wanted you to hear from us in a video that we recorded together to share why we're making this shift and to thank you for creating the most caring, thoughtful, and erudite community on the internet.
We’d love to hear from you—please feel free to reach out to us at novelpairingspod@gmail.com with any thoughts or questions you’d like to share.
An Austen Readalong for Spring
Before we officially wrap things up for the podcast, we have one final exciting season! This spring, we're embarking on a delightful literary journey with Jane Austen's Emma. For the first time, our readalong is taking center stage on our main podcast feed.
Over March and April, we'll release six recap episodes that dive deep into Austen's witty world of matchmaking and social intrigue. But wait, there's more! Our Patreon community gets an extra treat: exclusive Friday bonus episodes featuring Close Reading insights, Deep Dives into character motivations, and behind-the-scenes literary analysis. We’re calling these special episodes “ Footnotes” and they will be available at both Patreon tiers. Of course, Literature Scholars will get to enjoy additional classes and book club discussions to get even closer to the text.
This is extra sweet as Emma was the first book we covered on the podcast five years ago and it will be the book we end on as well.
We'll be sharing the full reading schedule soon, so keep a look out. Whether you're an Austen devotee or new to her sparkling prose, there's something here for every reader, and we can’t wait to share this special season with you.
We’ll be back on the main feed soon! Until then, we declare after all, there is no enjoyment like reading. How much sooner one tires of anything than of a book!
